Sunday with Small Child

Sunday afternoon small child and I headed out into the great wild unknown.  No, actually we loaded up in the Tahoe and headed to Weatherford, land of Ulta, and my place of work.

Why you may be asking did we need to go to Ulta?  Well, you see dear ones, it is recital season and that means makeup and eyebrow waxing.  Sadly, small child has a tendency to grow one single eyebrow instead of the two that are intended.  We, therefore, must venture out periodically into the land cosmetologists and get that sucker waxed into shape.  And before going off on me about having her eyebrows done, she is 13 and it is her choice and she is one tough cookie.

Following our eyebrow adventure, we had lunch at a chain Mexican restaurant which did not warrant photos.  Food was good, but not pretty y'all.   But we left with full tummies and excitement because it was time for...wait for it...Into the Woods presented by Weatherford College Theater Department.

I have to tell you, free musical theater is wonderful.  As an employee of the college, my family and I get to take advantage of all kinds of wonderful cultural opportunities.  This time it was Into the Woods which my daughter loves.  So off we went to the show.

(Look at those eyebrows!)

Into the Woods was amazing.  I am so proud of the cast and all of the crew.  It is hard work to put on a play and even harder work for a musical.  Good singing and a beautiful set made for a really fun afternoon with small child.

And then off we went, not into the woods, but into Target for some last minute items and then off to grandmother's house...wait...no, off to our house for pizza and a movie.  With oldest female child moving in a month these moments are so special.  They will be gone before I know it.  And then my house will be quiet and I will have less laundry.
